Teddy Bears choo-choo choose rail museum for picnic
10 March 2015
Fuzzy bears of all shapes and sizes are welcome to join in all the fun of the Teddy Bears Picnic event at The Workshops Rail Museum, on Sunday 22 March 2015.
Young visitors can explore the Museum, tracking down the railway teddy bears hidden amongst real locomotives and various rail exhibits.
Children's musician and storyteller Renata will be in full entertainment swing throughout the day and will be hosting the Teddy Bears Parade at 1pm.
Museum Director Andrew Moritz said the Museum doesn't have any woods, but the day will be a nice surprise for young visitors.
"Teddy Bears are such a charming part of our early childhood. They provide comfort, go on adventures with you and never complain," he said.
"In honour of the humble toy, the day is for children to have fun with their fury friend in tow, and we hope to see all sorts of loved bears being proudly shown off at the parade."
"We love making use of our expansive heritage grounds, so our visitors are more than welcome to bring along a picnic and enjoy lunch on the lawns, however we do have a café onsite which serves a range of delicious food.
In case the favourite teddy of the household doesn’t make it to the Museum, young visitors can dive into the toybox for plenty of bears and toys to play with.
The Museum also features an indoor playground, Nippers Railway, ideal for running off excitement before home time.
Creation Station is stocked with all the necessary bits and bobs for creating teddy craft to take home.
Teddy bear, panda and koala dress-ups are ready to assist families in creating some memorable happy snaps of the day.
