Technology and innovation are all around us. At Queensland Museum, we have a large collection of technological items. Some are used everyday for things like communication and domestic chores. Others are specialised objects like those used for scientific research and medical treatment. Many of early innovations form the basis of the technology we use today, even if some of them seem very crude compared to the technology we have in the twenty-first century.

Technology has also played a part in trades such as manufacturing and printing. Even the tools and techniques used in Heritage Trades and everyday workshops use scientific principles to create coaches, metalwork, wood carvings and so on.
