Foreigners on the Slide Show

Saturday 28 - Sunday 29 August, Saturday 4 September - Sunday 5 September 9:30am - 4pm daily

Just because it could be made here, doesn't mean that it should have. We're showcasing a slide show of images that capture some of the "foreigners" built at the Ipswich Railway Workshops over the years. You'll see craftsmanship, ingenuity, irreverence and the sometimes illicit creations of past workers. Thieves, rogues, artisans, craft masters - you be the judge!

There are all types of objects from money boxes to deep sea fishing reels. Are these foreigners examples of fine craftsmanship or just outright stealing? Either way, let's marvel at what these rascals managed to master and get away with in the years gone by.
