Little Nippers: Megafauna

Uncover Queensland's ancient past!

There are many discoveries to make in this month's sessions! Little Nippers investigate the interesting and unusual features belonging to the giant animals that lived in Australia a long time ago. Be junior paleontologists and search for megafauna fossils in our "dig pits" activity.

Little Nippers activity space, meeting at the front of the museum. Look for the sign near the black locomotive.


Little Nippers is included with Museum entry and free for Annual Pass holders. No need to book – just come along and join in the fun.

About Little Nippers

Designed for children from 2 - 6 years, Little Nippers encourages fun and discovery learning around a museum object.

Each week during school term, from March to December, the Little Nippers box is opened and an object is revealed. The children learn about the mystery object through story, dance, song and craft.

Participating families are then invited to the Museum's Trackside Café to meet with other families.
