Features

Rostrum high and arched at base, with teeth above and below; body often yellow or translucent, speckled with fine reddish-brown dots. To 240 mm.

Notes

Over muddy bottoms, 10–45 m depth; juveniles mature in shallow estuaries and rivers. Important commercial, species. Widespread, northern Australia from Shark Bay, WA, to northern NSW; from Red Sea into Asia.
