Little Nippers

Little Nippers is held every Friday at 9:45am (March to December, except during school holidays). For upcoming themes, refer to our Events Calendar.

Designed for children aged 2 - 6 years, Little Nippers encourages fun and discovery learning around a museum object.

At each session, the Little Nippers box opens to reveal a mystery object. Learn more about it through themed storytelling, dance or finger play, music and creative activities. Themes change monthly, so mark us on your calendar - we look forward to seeing you.

This program runs in a dedicated space and is hosted by an experienced Museum presenter.

Join in the fun

Meet at 9:45am at the big black steam locomotive in Moving Goods.

No need to book, but spaces are limited.

Sessions conclude at 10:30am. Participating families are then invited to our Trackside Café to unwind with a coffee and chat with other families.

Families with children sensitive to stimuli are offered alternative activities on the day - just liaise with your presenter to see how we can best meet your needs.
