The Workshops Rail Museum is open with changes in line with the Queensland Government’s COVID Safe Roadmap to recovery which includes timed sessions to control visitor numbers in our galleries and spaces.

Please note The Workshops Rail Museum is closed on Good Friday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

Visiting as an Annual Pass holder

We have a reserved ticket allocation for our valued Annual Pass holders, so simply arrive and show your Annual Pass for free entry. Please note: you will need to complete a contact tracing form.

Want to become an Annual Pass holder? BUY AN ANNUAL PASS NOW and show your receipt until you receive your Annual Pass. 

Visiting as a non-Annual Pass holder

Bookings are essential as sessions capacities are limited. Use the BOOK NOW button below.

General Visiting Advice

  1. Bookings are essential with four entry times available: 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm
    All sessions finish at 4pm.
  2. Make sure you read our Conditions of Entry
  3. Arrive 5 mins prior to your session time
  4. Upon arrival please scan the QR code to complete a contact tracing form for Queensland Health and display your green confirmation tick to our friendly staff.
  5. Follow our directional signage and friendly staff
  6. Please note we prefer EFTPOS be used for transactions in our Trackside Cafe and Retail Shop

Conditions of Entry

To keep you safe, we have updated our conditions of entry in line with COVID19 restrictions:

  • Visitor numbers are capped in accordance with government guidelines, thank you for your patience while you wait. 
  • Bookings essential.
  • Contact information is required for all visitors upon entry.
  • If you are unwell, we ask you not to enter and to please come back when you are feeling better.  
  • Bring a water bottle, our water bubblers are closed at the moment.
  • We’ll have signage and alcohol-based hand sanitiser available to help you to practice social distancing and good hygiene.  
  • Some displays and exhibits might be closed. Thank you for understanding.  
  • We can only let a few people into our bathrooms at once.  Please be patient, and give priority to people with special needs.
  • Please follow the directions of our friendly staff. They are here to help and keep you safe.
