Opening Information – Bookings essential

In line with Stage 2 of the Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions, we are open again and entry is free until 30 August 2020.

The health, safety and well being of our visitors and staff is our highest priority, so we have made some changes to how you visit.

How to visit

  1. Bookings are essential. Book your free timed ticket here.
    Session 1: 9:30am - 11:30am
    Session 2: 12:30pm - 2:30pm
    Sessions are 2 hours each. If you want to stay longer, book both sessions and enjoy a break in the café or museum grounds while we clean the museum between sessions.
  2. Complete a Contact Form upon entry. Save time – complete the Contact Form (49 KB) pdf document icon before your visit and bring it with you. Forms will also be available at entry.
  3. Make sure you read our Conditions of Entry
  4. Arrive 5 mins prior to your session time
  5. Follow our directional signage and friendly staff
  6. Enjoy your visit!

Please note Nippers Railway is temporarily closed. All other exhibitions will be open including the Sciencentre and our temporary exhibition How Cities Work.

Annual Pass holders

Your Annual Pass has been automatically extended by three months to cover the closure period. A special limited time free reciprocal offer for SparkLab, Sciencentre at Queensland Museum will also be available for The Workshops Rail Museum Annual Pass holders from 25 June until 30 August 2020. 

Conditions of Entry

To keep you safe, we have updated our conditions of entry in line with COVID19 restrictions:

  • Visitor numbers are capped in accordance with government guidelines, thank you for your patience while you wait. 
  • Bookings essential.
  • Contact information is required for all visitors upon entry.
  • If you are unwell, we ask you not to enter and to please come back when you are feeling better.  
  • Bring a water bottle, our water bubblers are closed at the moment.
  • We’ll have signage and alcohol-based hand sanitiser available to help you to practice social distancing and good hygiene.  
  • Some displays and exhibits might be closed. Thank you for understanding.  
  • We can only let a few people into our bathrooms at once.  Please be patient, and give priority to people with special needs.
  • Please follow the directions of our friendly staff. They are here to help and keep you safe.
